In my opinion, Macbeth is a tragic hero Essay Example For Students

As I would see it, Macbeth is a grievous saint Essay I consider a to be saint as a character who is respected and adored and followed all through the play, and is purchased somewhere near a blemish in their character followed by destiny. Macbeth is a fearless saint, exceptionally positioned by his own family and society, just as the nation. I see the explanation behind this, notwithstanding, as the accompanying: He is an animal. He is a vicious, blood-cherishing butcher, and these are the exercises, which got him to the status at which he is, a general in the lords armed force, and Thane of Glamis. The witches would be viewed as a powerful nearness in the play to the Shakespearian crowd, though the advanced crowd would see coherent clarifications to all that occurs. Macbeth has a fierce character, and these witches could simply be frantic ladies who incite his clouded side. Be that as it may, the witches are introduced in the play as ladies with heavenly powers who make the day go to night which can be clarified just by a sunlight based overshadowing and who cause him to fantasize; is this a blade which I see before me, the handle towards my handI have thee not, yet I see thee still㠢â‚ ¬Ã¢ ¦ The blade drives Macbeth to the bedside of the lord, where Macbeth executes ruler Duncan. This could have been controlled and arranged by the witches, or could be Macbeths mindset joined with his savage nature. Notwithstanding, on the off chance that it is totally constrained by the witches, this would show that Macbeth isn't actually mindful subsequently the crowd symapthise with him. Ruler James I was extremely interested by witches and black magic, as was most the populace at the hour of shakespear. At the point when Shakespeare composed this for ruler James he ensured it would speak to him. Ruler James trusted in black magic and heavenly powers. He accepted that a gathering of witches endeavored regicide against him. Counting his predecessor, Banquo, in the story additionally helped with permitting the lord to see his own appearance in the play, particularly in the location of the 8 rulers, where lord James is the eighth lord. Thou shalt get lords, thought thou be none this was said to Banquo in act 1 scene 3, fortuitously; Banquo is above all else Jamess predecessor. Much after the Shakespearian time frame, the general population were entranced by black magic. So entranced, that they included another scene in the play, highlighting Hecate, goddess of black magic. Act 3 scenes 5 The Shakespearian crowd and the Elizabethan crowd would have believed the witches to be the most impressive component in the play. The primary scene and demonstration of the play is of the witches. Showy impacts, similar to lightning storm, are arranged to include impacts and interest the crowd. Dull, melancholy and malevolence impacts are utilized to speak to the witches and their authority over Macbeth. The principal scene contains a notice of meeting Macbeth; this gives aâ clear connection to him. The witches likewise talk about in which climate conditions they wish to meet; this could be trusting that the following specific conditions will meet in or picking what climate circumstance to CREATE for their gathering with Macbeth. The witches intend to play with Macbeths psyches and lead him to the dim way on which they track. This would intrigue the Elizabethan crowd significantly, as they didn't have our advanced science and thinking. The accepted that witches did without a doubt exist, and had heavenly powers to control and interest themselves with normal human personalities. An Elizabethan crowd at Hampton Court in 1606 would have discovered this amazing and interesting, and Shakespeares depiction of the witches in front of an audience may have even left them feeling exhausted or shaken.] The climate the witches appeared to make was mysterious; it was dim and dull yet incredible, and now and again, interesting. They generally appeared to show up when the climate conditions are poor or inside a tempest, and in murkiness. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦Her rough fingers㠢â‚ ¬Ã¢ ¦skinny lips㠢â‚ ¬Ã¢ ¦your beards㠢â‚ ¬Ã¢ ¦ This is Banquos depiction of the witches in Act 1 Scene 3, Macbeth and Banquos first experience with the witches. Her uneven fingers, which means dried out, red and harsh, would be regular as they worked with their hands, in planting, cooking and so forth alongside thin lips. These were well known highlights for lower and average workers ladies. The Witches In MacBeth Essay SummaryHe really wishes to become ruler and trusts in his expectation to work out as the past one did. This statement was said to ruler Duncan himself, thus he didn't wish to uncover his wants to assume lord Duncans position. At the point when the King goes through a night at Macbethsâ castle, Macbeth and his significant other see the chance to kill him. After becoming aware of the witches, Lady Macbeth was anxious to satisfy her own and her spouses predetermination that she accepted lay in these forecast; she empowered the homicide of ruler Duncan. They arranged the homicide, and she empowered him however this is just my view. The witches appeared to have had a more grounded influence in the homicide of Duncan. Macbeth pictured a knife before him driving him to Duncans bedside, he couldn't contact the blade up to that point; Is this a blade which I see before meà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦I have thee not yet I see thee still㠢â‚ ¬Ã¢ ¦ Macbeth kills the ruler and proceeds with his life coolly; this stuns the crowd, as they no longer realize whether to think of him as a lowlife or a saint. In act 4 scene 1 Macbeth comes back to the witches covetously, as I would like to think, to discover answers and more forecasts. He wishes to know his future. When Macbeth initially hears that he can't be vanquished by anybody Woman conceived he acknowledges his destiny figuring no individual can execute him, however he feels that he should know whether Banquo blood will rule? Will Banquos issue ever rule this realm? This is the place the 8 lords are appeared and in the eighth rulers hands, a glass, which were to show lord James reflection. Ruler James was extremely attached to this specific play since he could see himself, his progenitor and his convictions playing upon the phase before him. Toward the finish of act2 scene 1, Macbeth understands that whatever forecasts the witches had made had and would keep on working out as expected, and it was his own restlessness that got him the issues that he s presently languishing. Before Macbeth is slaughtered, he says these shuffling subjects no more accepted that patter with us from a twofold perspective that keep the expression of guarantee to ear, and break it to our expectation, this is the place he had understood the witches had given him a two sided connotation. Macduff had been brought into the world through a cesarean area, which implied he was awkward torn from his moms belly, not conceived normally. I think Shakespeare planned us, as his crowd, to feel a blend of compassion offense, against Macbeth. He is appeared all through the play as a heartless executioner affected by black magic. Toward the finish of the play the Elizabethan crowd would have felt compassion toward Macbeth since he understands he has been misdirected by the witches these shuffling subjects no more accepted that patter with us in a twofold senseact 5 scene 8 The witches show signs all through the play of there influence on Macbeth. For instance his follow like state, look how our accomplices riveted act1 scene 3. Likewise Macbeths changed appearance for what reason do u make such faces act1 scene 4, this possibly through the witches impact or his own feeling of remorse. Macbeth additionally has anâ inability to implore, Amen/stuck in my throat㠢â‚ ¬Ã¢ ¦ This could e the witches and their malevolent ways removing Macbeth from god, or Macbeths own soul rebuffing him for his own detestable musings and doings. Mind flights and dreams what is this I see, a blade before me? there are various explanations behind mental trips, but since the Elizabethan crowd would not have thought of any of these, solitary that the witches were capable. There are different models likewise, that the Elizabethan crowd would consider the witches liable for, similar to Macbeths absence of dread, upset conduct, lack of concern to life and furthermore greeting to detestable spirits. When concentrating principally on the extraordinary subtleties of the play, the witches appeared to me as the most remarkable component of the play, in any case, Macbeth appeared to be a force hungry frantic killer, yet once more, this is just my feeling. The Elizabethan crowd would believe the witches to be the most remarkable component into the play.

Study Regularly The Two Hour Rule: The general rule is that for every hour of time you spend in class, you should spend two hours of your own time studying the material.Plan Your Study Time: The amount of time you need may vary, but you should set aside time each week for reviewing study materials. At the beginning of the week, consider the material you need to cover and estimate how long you will need to complete your assignments, readings, and reviews.Schedule Study Time: Ideally, you should schedule a specific block of time to devote to each subject. Even when you are busy, set aside short periods of time each day to concentrate on your classwork. 2. Study Actively Think Critically About the Material: Effective studying involves more than just reading the assigned text and skimming through your notes. You need to analyze and understand the material.Take Notes: Read through your materials slowly and write down key points. How to Become a More Effective Learner Last-Minute Study Tips You have probably been told hundreds of times that cramming is a poor way to study for an exam. Hopefully, you remember to attend your psychology classes and take good psychology class notes. However, even students with good study habits sometimes find themselves needing to cram the night before a big exam. While cramming for an exam is definitely not the best way to study (and you certainly shouldnt make a habit of it), you can use a last-minute study session effectively to review notes and organize your thoughts. Tara Kuther, Ph.D., a Graduate School Expert, has a handy reference guide with tips for how to cram for an exam. She suggests prioritizing the topics you are going to study, reviewing class notes and required readings, and answering questions about the material in your own words. Other tips that might come in useful: Create a quick outline of the topics that will most likely be on the exam. Put a star next to the subjects that are giving you the most trouble, and then study these topics first. Next, move on to the material that you are more familiar with for a quick refresher.Dont take on too much. Trying to learn an entire semesters worth of material in one night is an impossible task. Instead of trying to cover every single thing, focus on the material that is most likely to appear on the exam. A quick rule of thumb - if your instructor talked about it in class, it is very likely that it will show up on the test. Use your class notes as a guide for what you should focus on in your cram study session.Get some sleep. It might be tempting to stay up all night to try to learn as much of the material as you possibly can, but this strategy can backfire. In all likelihood, you will just end up so exhausted and burned out that you wont be able to perform your best on the exam. Instead, study what you c an during your cram session, but still try to get some uninterrupted sleep the night before your exam. If you really need more study time, wake up early the next morning and go through your review materials one more time. How to Take Great Psychology Notes Final Thoughts At the start of every new class, sit down and come up with a study plan that will lead to success in the course. A little planning now can save you from a lot of last-minute stress.

Memo Zara Case Essay - 1375 Words

Memo Zara Case (Essay Sample) Content: Memo Zara CaseOverall strategy and market positioningInditex, GAP and HM are well-known organizations that are famous to the potential consumers. In terms of the overall strategy and their market positioning, these companies have done extremely well over the past decades though they have been influenced with economic crisis in the late 20th century. Despite the success that the three companies have realized within the short period of operation, their strategies and market positioning differ. HM has focused on sustainability as the core marketing strategy, and this has enhanced its success in the business sector. The aim of this strategy was to ensure that HM is well-known through advocating intensive advertisement, ensure that the sales prices for its commodities are lower than the price for both Zara and GAP brands. In the case of Zara, the marketing strategy focuses on the faster and stronger lead time. About 25% of the organizations stock is made of products that are fast-fashion. As such, the HM is appealing to the masses in the young adult and American segment. (Capell, 2008). Finally, GAP strategy is to ensure that it maximizes its revenue outlay while maintaining the cost incurred at its lowest level. Its marketing strategy is to undertake mobile marketing campaigns by using mobile banner ads, and SMS coupons. This will promote the company's latest collection and meet the seasonal demands of its customers. Zara's brand is unique and offers an efficient market positioning as compared to the other competitors. Though HM and Gap brands are also unique, Zara's brand is competitive in the economy.Performing the clothing design functionZara manufactures most of its clothing internally. It does not outsource its products as it aim at producing products that are fashion sensitive and relevant to the consumer at a given season or time. The organization uses just-in-time process of manufacturing its products. The production facilities and the de sign process have been centralized in order to enhance smooth flow of information across all the sectors and processes. With the quick response system characterizing the clothing design function, it has allowed Zara to design and produce apparel that is relevant to the season in place, thereby reducing inventory risks and forecast errors. Under the unique information system of Zara, the management can contact its retail stores with ease, and also get some pertinent information on the impressions and the changes in the fashion trends in the economy. The clothing design function also relies on fabric sources and other raw materials from the external suppliers. This ensures that it lowers its cost of goods sold thereby attaining competitive advantage over HM and Gap. In the case of HM and Gap most of its finished goods are outsourced (Butcher, 2009). The design function has limited work, in terms of production and designing the products to be relevant in the economy. The suppliers of the clothing are the ones bestowed with necessary design functions and are required to ascertain that the products they deliver to these companies meet the fashion trend in the economy.Manufacturing and sourcing the productsAlthough HM is considered as Inditex's closest competitor, there are several significant differences between these two retailers. HM operates a single format and tends to have slightly lower prices than Zara. This might be due to the fact that HM outsourced half of its production to low-wage countries. In contrast to Zara, HM's expansion strategy is characterized by entering one country at a time (MarketLine, 2008). This led to the fact that Zara, albeit HM started selling outside its home country ten years earlier, has a wider international presence. To entice customers in their stores, HM hires celebrity designers such as Karl Lagerfeld and relies on extensive advertising. In contrast to Zara, HM employs fewer designers and they furbish their stores less freque ntly. HM has 1,700 stores spread over 34 markets, with Germany being its biggest market. Gap focuses on internationalization of its product and business operations. The company focuses on the sale of clothing, accessories, and personal care products. In the early years of 1990, the operations of Gap were extended to Japan and France. Like Inditex, Gap contains five store chains located in different store chains, namely banana republic, Gap, Piper lime, and Old Navy. Gap has ensured that all of its production has been outsourced across the US and across the globe.Distribution of the products to the storesIn the distribution of products, Zara relies on quick response throughout its production, design, distribution and the process of retailing its products. Unlike most retail designers, the Zara design team tracked customer preferences and used sales potential and consumption information to determine new designs and repeat orders. Because the designers had access to this information, Zara could get the right products into the stores in the shortest of time. The shipment of the products is done twice a week, and the orders are made between 24 and 48 hours (Tiplady, 2006). On the other hand, GAP and HM have invested extensively on distribution of its products on local markets and abroad. As HM is refurbished with five retail stores, the clothing design is distributed to each retailer of easy access of the product by the consumer (Capell Khermouch, 2002). It outsources all of its production and relies extensively on the small number of distribution facilities to route its products across the globe to its network of retail stores. Though it may be perceived that the higher number of distribution outlets the organization has will result to high profit outlay, HM has relied on only five of its retail outlets, and it has made it grow to be among the top clothing and fashion design companies. By contrast, G...

Evil in Shakespeares Macbeth, Mary Shellys Frankenstein...

Evil in Shakespeares Macbeth, Mary Shellys Frankenstein and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Evil has always been in everyones lives. Some people have it more than others. There are places in the world where evil almost takes over. It crops up in all kinds of places, all over the world. In these texts, Macbeth, Frankenstein and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde there is a definite theme of evil throughout. In this essay I will write about what evil there is specifically in each of these texts. I will start with Macbeth because it has the most overriding evil out of the three. In the play Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, the leading character is Macbeth. He is†¦show more content†¦This troubles Macbeth as the witches just told him that he would become king. Macbeths evil thoughts now begin, he says in my way it lies. This is referring to Malcolm; he lies in Macbeths way to becoming king of Scotland. The king says that he will be going to Macbeths castle to celebrate the victory in the recent battle. Macbeth had written a letter to his wife, Lady Macbeth, about what had happened with the witches. She is also an evil person in the play. Some say just as much as Macbeth. She has planned a way to kill off King Duncan by the time the kings party arrive at their castle. She does this because she knows that Macbeth is too full o the milk of human kindness to do it himself. When Macbeth arrives home, his wife informs him of her plan to kill the king. He grudgingly agrees. Lady Macbeth tells him he must look like the innocent flower but be the serpent under it. This means he must act like everything is okay, but know underneath that he is going to kill the king. This of course in an evil thing to do, murder is one of the most evil things a person can commit. When the play was written people considered royalty to be Gods representative on earth, so killing the king was like killing God, unforgivable. The killing of Duncan went as follows: The chamberlains were drugged through their wine, and Lady Macbeth rung the bell twice as

Law Enforcement The United States Essay - 1595 Words

We the People Law enforcement was designed in the early 1800’s by a man named Robert Peal, which is why cops are sometimes referred to as Bobbies in England; designing an organization of law enforcement that would protect people from harming other people (Christ). This was the model that we based our western law enforcement agencies on, until prohibition became a federal task in the 1920’s. This is when the federal government decided to take up the task of protecting people from themselves. Fast forward to the 1960’s; President Richard Nixon took a step forward with prohibition by declaring a war on drugs. This perpetual war has consumed much of our country’s financial resources and profoundly affected our criminal justice system, which governs us today. Many claim that this effect on our country has been negative, but others claim the necessity of it. There have been vast changes in our country since law enforcement instituted the principal of protecting people fro m themselves. Has this addition to the western model of law enforcement been beneficial? Is it logical in current times? Those who agree that prohibition is necessary often take a more conservative approach to politics, social policies, and law enforcement agendas. One of the most frequent objections to ending prohibition is that the end of these laws would condone drug use, cause more families to suffer, and increase crime. Comparative Analysis POM and POS

Question: Discuss about the Comparative Analysis for POM and POS. Answer: Introduction The cargo would later have their transfer to the rail where the load is to move to the warehouse. These stores were in concentration in the King Street. (Farhan et.al, 2016). This overall task was an expensive and very inefficient process, where immediate action was a similar change at the moment. In the year 1877, the government of Victoria had the resolution to make the Yarra River at most more navigable than before, thus plans started and this majorly engaged the English engineer called Sir John Coode, who was to devise a solution to the problem. The main agenda for the solution was to make a possible plan to make the course of the river by clean cutting of the canal the central channel of the Southall south course of river Yarra. By conducting this operation, the overall length of the travel would be shorted by a mile and thus make the river much wider. The ultimate results of the project led to the creation of the Coode Island. After the project was a successful event, ships were able to sail, going as far as to the Queens Bridge where most of the turning basin was mainly in construction. (Liu et.al, 2015). The interesting part of the Code project. When more construction sites were in demand, because of the significant growth of the business in the port plans were put up front to facilitate the building of another port. That is Spencer Street Bridge in the year 1928, and also the Charles Grimes Bridge in the year 1975, each site made a final access to the main docks to the Far East. Background information In view to making it a large enterprise, the development of the port had a realization. Slowing down in the general work during the great World War II depression which later had a resumption of work after the war with the construction of the Appleton Dock and the Webb Dock in 1956 and 1960 respectively at the mouth of the Yarra and the Swanson Dock. It was the first terminal on the new island. When the work was in completion, eventually Victoria Dock was now becoming too small to handle fully large containers and ships which were to dock there. It led to its closure; its fate was permanently in a seal under the construction of the Bolte Bridge, also the City link which was across the entrance in the year 1999. It is the current Melbourne Docklands which are under redevelopment currently. In 1998, the port was a scene of the watershed industrial battle which was in action between Patrick and the maritime union of Australia in the year 1998. Keeping that aside, the recent controversial issues which have led to dredge port Philips, to deepen the shipping channels was to allow larger ships into the port of Melbourne. The general process of expansion which had its beginning in 2008, and later its completion was in 2009. The whole facilitation had to involve removal of 22million cubic meters of the earth; this was to provide a minimum of 14 meters of a draft in all the times around the clock. When this was taking place, opposition occurred about environmental damage. The projects stem was a subject to environmental damage due to siltation. And thus environmental specialists who were on the verge to explain and find out the effects and possible problems that might occur was in position. On the other hand, a brief history of the port of Shanghai (PoS). Port of Shanghai has its location in the East China Sea to the east, and this makes it be south to the bay of Hangzhou. The overall confluences of the Yangtze River and Huangpu River also the Qian-tang River in inclusion. The port managed to be in an establishment and be in control by the Shanghai international port that has superseded the mighty Shanghai port authority in 2003. The administrator who is the Shanghai international port company has a listing in which the Shanghai municipal government roughly owns 44.23 percent of the total outstanding shares. The likely rise of the harbor into fame and major foundation can be farfetched from the Ming dynasty, which was then the, and currently, the town of Shanghai being part of the Jiangsu province. In the other hand Shanghai became the county seat of the Yuan dynasty, this led to it remaining a small town. The location is at the mouth of the Yangtze River which was under the leadership of the coastal trade development, during the reign of the Qianlong emperor in the almost unknown town of Qing dynasty. The company had a realization of gradual development and surpassed the port of Ningbo and also the port of Guangzhou which now made it be the largest port in China at the time. In a probable assumption, in 1842, the treaty port is the name of the Shanghai, thus the overall developing sect into an international commercial city. In the early 20th century, it was in a position to take over the world by fame and thus the largest town in the Far East and the largest port in the Far East. In 1949, the communist took over the Shanghai. Thus all the overseas trade was cut dramatically in a positive way. The economic policy of the people which was an implementation of the Peoples Republic and the most crippling all the effect on the Shanghais infrastructure as well as the development of the capital. In the year 1991, the government of Shanghai made an allowance of the port to initiate a reform to the port administration. ( Christos, 2015). Since that time the port of Shanghai made a progressive development at an increasing rate and by 2005, the Yang Shan the deepest waters was to be in a construction structure, specifically on the Yang Shan Island. It is a group of islands found in the Hangzhou Bay. Major operational problems in a port of Melbourne and Port of Shanghai. The most operational problems which the two ports share are the key challenges in the port sector, which it will include tight time frames for port extensions which are meant to meet the rising export and imports is increasing rapidly particularly from the resources sector. (Blok et.al, 2015). When an improvement in planning for the ports is in an establishment, with an inclusion of revision of the governance policies then arrangements and the ultimate achievements of certainly more deeds can be reached. The aspect of dealing with the urbanist encroachment where the ports become a reference point, then the predictability of the general outcome which has a direct relation to transportation corridors will certainly be in a position to provide a communal industry a greater potential. The vast and most prominent problem, unlike the overall minor issues, are to be put into action, an apparent reputation created by those in the administration need to overpower all the acting personnel into action. When shipping of goods become a topic of concern then the most urgent issue to be in view here is that size matters a lot in navigation. Thus the two ports need to have a glance on the initiatives that will put the entire company from having a simple and symbolic capacity to undertake all duties without fail. In this context, the establishment of expansion to hold more goods and have deep harbors for more ships to dock is a case which needs urgency. A change to have the supplier base increase as management has been part of the project to uncover the problems of the two ports. To have a comparison with other ports across it can be in identification that many firms have got the proactive initiation to have many steps into the logical view of the sustenance factors in place. A significant change in the reduction of all the essential consolidation and reconstructing the supplier networks will make the overall network a competitive lot. The actual delegation of higher responsibilities to manage key suppliers. When such an initiation is into place, then the production also will see its way high the graph. Internal operations are also to be in consideration. It is the internal operations which will be pertaining the supply and the management of the docks and harbors of the general firm. A streamlined integration by the company across the units in the group will be a different form of organizational structure to help in curbing the reduction of issues in the entire docking problem. Comparative analysis of the challenge to the ports. In a complete contextual analysis of the maritime business in the ports, a complete visualization of the induced comparison from the two companies will play an initiative role to oversee the success of the two companies. To begin with, a general technique on the possibilities which are to create a new platform from a technological aspect. The principal purpose of the analysis is to try and make interactions between the new technologies at the ports of Melbourne and the port of Shanghai. (Verhetsel et.al 2015). Regarding ship, technology is relevant that: the two ports have ship sizes which will make a lead to operational problems in the ports for the requirements of the appropriate infrastructure will be an immediate action to be action. A different point is the speed of the ships which will bring delaying in delivering the cargo in time, thus a loss on the conservative side. It is also evident that rates will lead to shorter turnarounds time which will have an overall increase in the demands upon all the navigational supports systems in place. (Kennedy et.al, 2015). In the same perspective, the container technology which at the current system is highly standardized hence the Ro-Ro technology will see a competitive lot of which it can use several types of load carriers which at the end of the process will make a lead to difficulties in the operational systems. Recommendations The other basic solution to the problem is the bit of navigational technology employed by the two companies to make the business success. Many systems work the navigation and communication systems which are easily available. Thus the development of the equipment to be used onboard is mandatory to match a technology which is conversant with the latest technology which is not found in the two ports making it a deficiency on its own. It has an effect on the utilization of resources and leads to an increase in the efficiency of the systems and safety. The other part which has a close relation and which will be part of the original bit to make the process successful is the information and communication section technologies which accounts for a bigger percentage of the general success in the whole process. It is a fundamental part to relay information which will mean that if a delay is to make in the news section, then the entire communication process will come down rendering the process null. It makes it possible not only for the information exchange of navigation and all the traffic updates but the other general aspect provision. Is that they provide all the information relevant to be on precision on arrivals and departure teams, loading of information and plans of the two companies will eventually be an operational plan for a period which will have an enabling power source. (Bergqvist et.al, 2014). When all the pieces of information needed in place, the ports can make better plans for involvement to prepare cargo departure and ca rgo arrivals. Solutions to curb the challenges. To make a step forward to be a successful business then a handful of necessary remedies which will be an advantage to the companies. The practical logistics to be an advantage to the whole process to be a potential attribute, the systems have to be in an operation which will favor the manner of conventional logistics systems. (Tang, 2014). The possible solutions will include the treatment of the assets in the conformation of functions and their availability, will be better that the use of the environmental objectives which will be an inclusion of a particular identity and form. It will add to the way the assets are to treat. Dissociation of ownership to control the property will also serve a good ground to allow the physical location of assets for better utilization of the two ports, by making this initiation there will many traces of the companys activities to an extent of making it a success and documentation on progress easy. When an access is allowed to the logistic resources to have computer-based trading of logistic resources will enhance relations which have a high impact. Conclusion In the two ports that are the port of Melbourne and the port of Shanghai, a prominent integration of current technology into the transportation and the general production for the general purpose of making a reasonable maintenance of product control and comfortable stock taking in the port. Also, the harmonization of a logistic system to resources can make the outcome be a great potential to treat the all owned logistics and commodities to be utilized and provision of a sharing notion of resources. Port cooperations which are in a run in the understanding of basic concepts will be an enhancement of the standard use of hinterland to expand the operational grounds. (Leavy, 2014). The docking place and problems of lacking physical allowance space for expansion can add by dislodging, and proper initiatives are implemented to allow proper docking of the ships. The containers used should be updated and match the current standards needed in the general operation which will enhance delivery of goods and services and the cargo in time without delay. The staff should be in a position to have exposure to new technological creativeness, which will be able to connect the significant gaps and niches in a position to bring a good relation and up to date technology in the two ports. (Zheng et.al 2015). The only difference is that the ports are located in different geographical places but have majorly a good reputation of tradeoff cargo to Australia and China respectively. We will write a custom essay sample specifically for you Proceed This was an instance in which one of the staff members felt that she was allocated excessive work compared to others with regards to patient workflow. She also felt that other staff members were not performing their duties and instead dumping the patient work on her. As a nursing supervisor I was responsible for following the problem. However, the staff member did not approach me and instead took the matters in her own hands. She had a hard talk with the other nurses in the working area and in front of the patients. Following this, the issue had gone to the higher authorities I had to take up the issue. It was difficult to sort out because there was no definitive means by which patents were allocated to each staff member. Patients were allocated on a random basis. If a staff member was not present when a patient arrived, then the patient was allocated to the staff member who was present. This problem had to be solved cautiously as the staff members were seriously demotivated with the incident. It also had a disastrous effect on the patient workflow. From previous experience I have observed that if the higher authorities take the matter within their own hands, then the issue usually would get resolved, but the conflict within the staff members would continue, having an adverse effect on the patient workflow. Hence, through experience I felt that it was important to solve this problem by having active participation of the staff members, especially those who were in a conflict situation. I had a meeting with each and every staff member of the incident in person, in order to get feedback and an insight into the incident. I then convened a meeting in order to develop a solution to the problem. However, the meeting was more of a stage at which the conflict worsened. I had to use my powers in order to stop the conflict and develop a solution to it. The staff members do consider me an authoritative figure and hence were listening to the suggestions put forth by me. Finally, a feasible solution was developed, which was slowly implemented. It was decided to allocate the patients on an equal basis. The staff members were permitted to leave the workplace only after seeking my permission. Each of them participated in resolving the conflict and made a whole-hearted effort to do so. Finally, a plan was actually decided which was implemented. I had taken permission from the higher-ups regarding this plan. Finally, each and every staff members were happy with the patient work-distribution and were motivated to work (Neilson, 2003 & Messina, 2007). References: Messina, J.J. & Messina, C.M. The Life of Olaudah Equiano essays

The Life of Olaudah Equiano essays Olaudah Equiano was a figure in history that made a large impact on many people during his time and still on ours. He created an uprising for many anti-slavery advocates. He brought out many things that were not visible to the people that did not know how slaves were brought to the different countries and how badly they were treated. It showed people how poorly other men were treated just because the color of their skin and the country they lived at. He struggled through many tough times, but he survived all the trials of life he was put through. This man is a strong man with much honor and pride, and a great advocate against slavery. Olaudah suffered through many trials and tribulations on his way over to the West Indies. He was reunited with his sister but only for a short while until she was separated from him and brought to a different slave master. One of the most troubling parts for him was probably for him to be separated from his family. He was in love and was very close to his mother, and then he couldnt even speak when he was reunited with his sister for awhile after they were reunited. This is such a big reason anybody could see why slavery can be viewed as such a horrible thing because family is such an important thing to everybody. To be separated from them so forcefully would be such a big thing especially at such a young age. While on the ride over on the ship he had a confrontation with his slave master over his name. His master wanted his name to be Gustavus Vassa and Olaudah did not like it so he decided to refuse to answer to his new name. So due to his bravery in going against his slave master he was cuffed. Eventually he decided to stick with this name and was known by that name for the rest of his life. Olaudah Equiano would not even eat for an extensive period of time unless he was forced by the slave owners to eat. The thought of not knowing what was really ...

Critically assess the attractions of commodities as an asset class Essay

Critically assess the attractions of commodities as an asset class over the short and long-term - Essay Example The ever-expanding list now also includes products such as financial instruments and stock indexes that trade on a commodity exchange. Commodities can be considered to be an asset class in their own right and long-term investments in the same have resulted in equity-like returns to investors. An investment can generally be considered a separate asset class when its returns are independent of other asset classes; its returns are both positive and significantly different from cash; its return cannot be replicated with a combination of other asset classes. Commodities have all these characteristics and therefore provide considerable investment portfolio diversification opportunities. It provides return and risk opportunities beyond that of simple inflation hedging and has sources of risk and return that are significantly different from and independent of traditional assets such as stocks and bonds. Moreover, its advantage lies primarily in that its risk and return trade-offs cannot be easily replicated through other investment alternatives. Thus commodity investment has enormous growth potential and poses some unique attraction for investors who understand its unique characteristics, benefits and challenges. For instance, commodities generally outperform other asset classes in an expansionary phase and deliver extra-ordinary returns within short periods. Like property, commodities offer low to negative correlation with equities and bonds and fixed income instruments and, therefore, provide a natural balancing and sobering effect on the portfolio. A correlation coefficient is a number between -1 and 1 that measures the degree to which two variables are linearly related. A positive correlative coefficient means that the two variables are directly related, i.e. the value of one will increase or decrease along with the increase or decrease in the other. A negative correlation means that the variables are inversely related and when one

Hrd 276 - Essay Example This review has chosen JetBlue Airways for purposes of organizational culture model simply because the company practices the Denison Organizational Culture Survey (DOCS), a tool of choice that has become effective in assessing the cultural and organizational performance. Using this tool, organizations can now benchmark their cultural scores against the global database. As a result, they can now develop action plans that are geared towards improving their current practices. In an analysis of JetBlue Airways using DOCS tool, both strengths and weaknesses of the organization as they apply in the company performance will be undertaken with respect to adaptability, mission, involvement and consistency (Denison Consulting, 2013). In doing so, specific aspects of an organizations culture in each of the fore mentioned traits and management practices are normally carried out. Adaptability is characterized by a number of traits such as customer focus, creating change and organizational learning. While creating change, JetBlue Airways has been characterized by the ability of the company to being responsive to change. The company responds well with its competitors and with respect to changes in the external environment. However, there is a need for different organizational unit to cooperate in order for Jet Blue to realize more change (Denison Consulting, 2013). Customers focus; on the other hand, requires that all members of the organization understands customer’s wants and needs particularly being an airline company. The last aspect of adaptability is organizational learning whereby failure should be viewed as an opportunity for future improvements. Therefore, this should encourage innovations in the company as the risk takers get re warded. The next factor of explanation of culture is the mission that involves strategic directions and intent; setting

The Development of Behavioral Psychology Essay -- science, J.R. Angell

The human mind and the way humans behave have been primary topics of study amongst historians for many years. Studies have been conducted in different professional areas to gain knowledge and understanding of humans, in an attempt to control behavior. The study of human behavior is known as behavioral psychology or behaviorism. The goal of early behaviorists and functionalists was to bring about a more reliable psychology. The behaviorists believed they would achieve this goal by excluding introspection and focus on the study of behaviorism. This evolution was achieved with help from the zeitgeist, behaviorist, and organizational psychology. This paper will discuss J.R. Angell and his prediction of the shift in psychology from introspection to behaviorism, the persons and idea’s helped to carry out the shift, how the zeitgeist supported the shift, and how the development of industrial psychology played its part in the shift. On what did Angell base his opinion? J. R. Angell was a psychologist and educator, who studied under John Dewey and William James. Angell worked as a psychology instructor at the University of Minnesota. It was at this university that Angell formed a psychology department in 1905 (Schultz and Schultz, 2012, p.294). Schultz and Schultz (2008) wrote: J.R. Angell at the University of Chicago, perhaps the most progressive of the functional psychologists, predicted that American psychology was ready for greater objectivity. In 1910, he commented that it seemed possible that the term consciousness would disappear from psychology, much as the term soul had disappeared. (p. 293) Behaviorism, which contended to end structuralism without compromise, was underway when Angell made his 2008 statement. J.R. Angell is su... ...or individuals. Conclusion Psychology has grown from the founding of behaviorism. Many individuals and ideas played a big part in setting the atmosphere for behaviorism to be widely accepted. Zeitgeist of that time period had also contributed to the acceptance of behaviorism. Therefore, when Watson came on the scene, it was not difficult for his ideas to be accepted. Even organizational psychology had its role by showing one can apply techniques in every aspect to bring change. Works Cited Buckley, K. W. (1989).
